Oblivion the world's first vertical drop roller coaster opened in 1998. Whilst the ride was under construction it was a great secret as to what the ride actually was. The construction fence said, 'world's first ride coming 1998.'

Oblivion is located in the X Sector which is on the right hand side if you are at Towers Street, it is next to the Towers and they provide an excellent back drop for the sinister ride. When riders are queueing for Oblivion they're told, they could die.

Oblivion seats 8 riders in a row and there are 2 rows per train. 6 trains operate on Oblivion with the station loading 2 trains at the same time. Consequently the capacity on Oblivion is excellent, meaning very short queues. The average queue time for Oblivion is 30 minutes.

After boarding the 6 tonne train and the train is clear for departure, you climb very slowly up a steep lift hill. Once reaching the top you can look around and enjoy the view because the train creeps towards the edge. Once approaching the edge it will appear that the track has disappeared. When you reach the edge the train will slowly slip over and hang at a 45 degree angle for about 3 seconds. Once the train is released you will plummet towards the black hole, pouring with mist, far below. Upon entering the hole, you will be sprayed with a mist. After the black hole you will experience an overhead turn past Enterprise. The train will enter the brakes and suddenly slow down.

It doesn't matter when you ride Oblivion as normally the queue will be quite short, even if it appears long, remember that the ride takes a lot more passengers than other rides in the park and the queue should move quite quickly.

Riders must be a minimum of 1.4 meters tall to ride. There is a test seat located at the ride entrance if you're unsure.
